Lake LBJ Links Classic
Golf Tournament
June 19th, 2026

President's Prospective

by Andy Virdell

Kingsland is coming alive in a big way as we move deeper into spring. The recent rain couldn’t have come at a better time, and with more on the way, the entire area is greening up fast. It’s a welcome sight as Kingsland and Lake LBJ hit their stride, just ahead of peak tourism season.

We’re already seeing momentum build, and it’s setting the stage for a strong stretch for our local businesses as visitors return to enjoy everything our area has to offer.

Be sure to join us for our upcoming Business After Hours Chamber Mixer on May 14th from 5:00–6:30 PM. It’s a great opportunity to connect with fellow members in a relaxed setting and stay engaged with the local business community.

We’re also looking ahead to the Chamber’s Lake LBJ Links Classic on June 19th at The Legends Golf Course. This year’s event will feature a large prize pool, a catered meal, and plenty of opportunities for teams and sponsors to get involved. Sponsorship information can be found below.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event!

TALK WITH TRACI:
Put Your Membership to Work

One of the biggest opportunities I see is this—many members aren’t fully using the tools available to promote their business through the Chamber.

Your membership includes more than just being listed. You have access to tools that help you stay visible and connected, including:

These tools are here to help you stay top of mind with both locals and visitors—and they only work if you use them.

Growing Visibility for Kingsland

Our website continues to attract both local users and potential visitors from outside the area.

Traffic is coming from a mix of:

  • Direct visits
  • Social media
  • Search engines
  • Partner referrals

This growing reach supports our efforts to position Kingsland as a destination and drive more visibility back to local businesses.

Tourism Update:  Building Visibility for Kingsland

We’re continuing to expand tourism marketing efforts designed to bring more visitors—and customers—to our area.

Current focus areas include:

  • Growth of VisitKingslandTX social media
  • Improving website content to better support AI search engines and travel planning
  • Enhanced tracking to measure visitor engagement

Why it matters:
More visitors means more opportunity for local businesses.

This year’s tournament is designed to deliver more value and visibility than ever.

What’s new:

  • Live scoring + leaderboard app
  • Premium on-course games and experiences
  • Strong sponsor visibility throughout the event

Sponsorships are still available but filling quickly.

April Lunch & Learn:  Tourism & HOT Grants

Thank you to everyone who joined our April Lunch & Learn on tourism and Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) funding.

We covered how HOT grants work, what types of projects may qualify, current tourism trends in Llano and Burnet counties, and opportunities to drive more overnight visitors to our area.

A valuable session connecting tourism funding to real opportunities for local businesses.
